DescriptionThrough hands-on activities and role-plays, students will take on the role of a doctor and learn about the vital organs and systems that make up the human body. Throughout the week, participants will become different medical professionals by specializing in and exploring new body systems. Students will engage in role-plays and create models of parts of the body to learn how they work and what doctors do to prevent, diagnose, and treat illnesses. These future doctors will practice using real medical tools including a stethoscope and reflex hammer and have hands-on experience practicing first aid in emergency situations. This camp includes many daily take-home items and products the students will use and create as part of the hands-on activities. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a ceremony where the campers will demonstrate their new skills and graduate with their own student lab coat, stethoscope, and diploma.
Take-home items include: student lab coat; stethoscope; heart, lung, and digestion models; organ and bone sticker sets; student-made models of bones, brain, blood, and spine; doctor’s office design; graduation certificate
