Our objective is to support the communities of Western Washington through arts education and school outreach. Winter Wearables

DescriptionWinter is here! Time to bust out the cozy mittens, cute scarves, comfy hats and all the other happy items that make winter so magical. Better yet, to make some of your own! Students are invited to learn a skill they will use for a lifetime and a hobby they will forever enjoy...sewing! No experience necessary for any child to learn the basics and beyond. New students will learn machine safety, beginner sewing techniques, and complete two prerequisite projects, while the more experienced students can expand on skills they already have. This class is student-led, and they advance at their own pace with autonomy over the projects they choose to create. Camps and classes are designed to teach children with both beginning and advanced skills. Projects rotate each session, and include seasonal tops and bottoms, bags and purses from tiny to extra large, and accessories to keep you feeling warm and looking cool! All supplies are included! *For all new sewers, the first class of the session is mandatory, please contact Chelsea Cook if your child is unable to attend*

With their soothing, rhythmic motions, yarn arts offer a unique opportunity to unwind, find calm, and stay centered. Our program caters to all skill levels, so whether you're a beginner or an experienced yarn enthusiast, there's something for everyone. We'll start off with finger knitting, explore crochet hooks, and play with our user-friendly Knifty Knitter Looms. Throughout the class, participants will dive into a variety of exciting projects. From charming bookmarks to cuddly stuffed animals, trendy headbands to practical pouches, there's no shortage of fun and useful creations to bring to life. Students are encouraged to get creative and design or customize their own projects using skills they’ve learned.

Painting & Drawing

DescriptionIn this weekly class, our young artists will flex their creative muscles and paint a masterpiece all their own! Each class will begin with a short introduction to our project and art concept of the week. Then students will follow step by step directions to draw our artwork of the day. We will make everything from sunsets to seascapes, animals, still lifes, and much more Students are always encouraged to exercise their creativity and make any changes they desire to their picture. As we draw and paint together, students will learn basic art skills and exercise their creativity. Art skills that will be practiced include: foreground/background, color mixing, drawing patterns and texture, using shapes to draw more complex forms, drawing animals, drawing people, and more! All supplies included.
