We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. We bring all supplies. We'd be excited to have your child join our programs, where kids ages 4-14 from 48 states come to learn, have FUN, and play chess!

DescriptionThis program is an extension of Chess Club with Magnus Chess Academy. During the first hour, class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced strategies. In this new second hour, we are taking Chess Club to the next level, focusing on solving chess puzzles and playing tournament style games. All chess supplies provided. All students receive a ChessKid Gold Membership with the program. The After School sections will meet for 1-day of the week for 2 hours. This rate includes both the base Chess Club and the additional second hour.

Half Day Chess Break Camp

DescriptionPlay and learn chess with Magnus Chess Academy on early release Mondays with half day break camp conveniently located at your school!A great camp for everyone from brand new beginners to tournament players. Students will have two lessons, ranging from rules to studying master games, as well as a bunch of practice games. All equipment provided. We welcome all grades and skill levels.

DescriptionLearn chess with Magnus Academy, five-time world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time. This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments, a Chesskid Gold membership ($69 value!), and an event with a chess celebrity. Last year's guests were World Champion Magnus Carlsen and Judit Polgar (the best female chess player of all time). All chess supplies provided. All skill levels are welcome.
