Briana Montgomery EichbaumBri began sharing yoga in her preschool classroom in 2004 when her love and appreciation of yoga stretched beyond her own practice and into her teachings as a first year preschool teacher. Paired with the challenge of being a new teacher, she found her students needed something beyond the typical, set curriculum. Breathing techniques and yoga poses always brought grounding and peace into Bri's day and she wanted to share those same experiences with these children. After months of a consistent yoga practice with her students and seeing the positive transformation, she embedded yoga into her teaching curriculum and continued doing so for over 14 years at schools in Washington State and Oregon.
In 2009, Bri experienced her most important life event when she become a mom. When her son turned 2 she began practicing yoga with him as a part of their bedtime routine. This brought them both joy and connection — such sweet moments that Bri still cherishes. In 2017 when her son was diagnosed with ADHD, yoga and mindfulness became a medication supplement. In addition to seeing how yoga benefited her preschool students, she now saw how it benefited her son in many ways and Bri felt called to become a yoga teacher to guide others and continue this work.
Bri received her 200-hour yoga certification in 2018 from 8 Limbs Yoga Studio in Seattle. Throughout her training, her focus on who she wanted to teach continued to circle back to children. The love from teaching yoga to her students and son were the main drivers to pursue a career as a Kids Yoga Teacher. Immediately after her adult yoga training, she trained with Seattle Kids Yoga to receive her Kids Yoga certification and started teaching classes for SKY.
Bri has brought yoga into the lives of children in schools throughout her local school district as well as assisting with online teacher training with Seattle Kids Yoga. In addition, she teaches online and outdoor classes to kids, slow flow to Seniors, other online specialty classes, and is creating Kids Yoga in a Box through her business, Pure Potential Yoga. Bri’s kind demeanor and playful personality create a warm and energetic yoga class. Guiding people of all ages and abilities through yoga and mindfulness is her way of teaching everyone to say to themselves, "I can!”
