Day Camp
Little Veterinarian School - Adopt a Dog
by Little Medical School - Tampa Bay
DescriptionAfter adopting their very own plush dog, students will take on the role of a veterinarian through hands-on activities and role-plays. These future veterinarians will perform a nose-to-tail exam, learn about proper hydration and nutrition, and practice giving vaccinations. Camp participants will study a dog’s vital organs and learn how to perform an X-ray. Students will diagnose and treat a sick and injured dog and role-play the key responsibilities within a vet clinic. This camp includes many daily take-home items and products the students will use and create as part of the hands-on activities. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a ceremony where the campers will demonstrate their new skills and graduate with their own student lab coat, plush dog, and diploma. Take-home items include: student lab coat; plush dog; veterinarian journal; vet clinic design; healthy dog treat recipe card and playdough treats; dog bowl; tick demonstration; syringe; dog eye model; adoption and graduation certificates

Little Veterinarian School - Adopt a Cat
by Little Medical School - Tampa Bay
DescriptionAfter adopting their very own plush cat, students will take on the role of a veterinarian and learn how to care for their new feline friend. These future veterinarians will role-play a cat’s first visit to the clinic by appropriately approaching the cat by studying their body language, learning how to give a body condition score, and finishing the appointment with a whiskers-to-tail exam. Camp participants will study a cat’s vital organs to learn about common cat illnesses. Through role-plays, students will treat a sick and injured cat patient, understand how to reduce cat stress, and maintain a proper living environment to keep their cat happy and healthy. This camp includes many daily take-home items and products the students will use and create as part of the hands-on activities. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a ceremony where the campers will demonstrate their new skills and graduate with their own student lab coat, plush cat, and diploma. Take-home items include: student lab coat; plush cat; cat carrier and vet clinic designs; veterinarian journal; kitty litter box; student-made cat toy; blood model; adoption and graduation certificates.

Little Doctor School
by Little Medical School - Tampa Bay
DescriptionThrough hands-on activities and role-plays, students will take on the role of a doctor and learn about the vital organs and systems that make up the human body. Throughout the week, participants will become different medical professionals by specializing in and exploring new body systems. Students will engage in role-plays and create models of parts of the body to learn how they work and what doctors do to prevent, diagnose, and treat illnesses. These future doctors will practice using real medical tools including a stethoscope and reflex hammer and have hands-on experience practicing first aid in emergency situations. This camp includes many daily take-home items and products the students will use and create as part of the hands-on activities. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a ceremony where the campers will demonstrate their new skills and graduate with their own student lab coat, stethoscope, and diploma. Take-home items include: student lab coat; stethoscope; heart, lung, and digestion models; organ and bone sticker sets; student first aid kit; student-made models of bones, brain, and spine; brain hat; eye and blood models; CPR and Heimlich Maneuver practice steps; doctor’s office design; graduation certificate
