Set sail on an exciting 9-week adventure through history, where you’ll design and build a brand-new LEGO settlement from the ground up. Your team has been commissioned by the monarch of Kidizens Kingdom in the age of exploration to explore uncharted lands and create a thriving, self-sustaining community. But it won’t be easy! You’ll need to navigate treacherous seas, manage resources wisely, and work together to overcome the challenges of building a new home in an unfamiliar environment. In this immersive, play-based experience, you’ll step into the roles of shipbuilders, navigators, engineers, planners, and community leaders, making key decisions about how to create a safe, functional, and prosperous society. Through hands-on building and collaborative problem-solving, you’ll explore history, economics, leadership, and sustainability—all while using LEGO bricks to bring your ideas to life! What to Expect: 🚢 Shipbuilding & Navigation: Research and construct an explorer’s ship, learning about the technology and engineering of the time. 🏝 Designing a New Community: Plan and build homes, farms, and essential infrastructure while ensuring access to food, water, and shelter. ⚔️ Survival & Teamwork: Manage resources, make critical decisions, and work together to overcome obstacles like storms, food shortages, and unexpected challenges. 💰 The Economy of Exploration: Engage in trade, mine for gold, and explore the real-world economic impact of exploration and resource management. 🌍 Sustainability & Ethics: Consider how new settlements impact the environment and local communities—how can you build responsibly? 🏛 Leadership & Governance: Establish rules, resolve conflicts, and shape a thriving LEGO society that can stand the test of time. DescriptionThis Spring, we are offering Kidizens Entrepreneurs! An exciting, hands-on program designed for kids grades k-5 who are ready to dive into the world of business and entrepreneurship—all through the power of LEGO bricks! In this immersive, play-and-project-based class, students will role-play as business owners within an established LEGO city, where they will develop their own unique business idea, create a business plan, and learn the fundamentals of running a successful enterprise. Throughout the program, children will learn about the exciting world of entrepreneurship—everything from market research and budgeting to branding and marketing—all while fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. With the guidance of our instructors, students will bring their business ideas to life by designing their own store, products, and business strategies using LEGO bricks, as they work together to make their businesses thrive in the bustling LEGO city. What to Expect: -- Create & Build: Develop and design a LEGO business from the ground up—whether it's a bakery, toy store, or tech company. Build your store, design your products, and bring your business to life. -- Business Planning & Strategy: Learn the basics of creating a business plan, including setting goals, budgeting, and marketing your product or service. -- Role-Playing as Entrepreneurs: Take on the role of a business owner, making important decisions, solving problems, and navigating the challenges of running a business in a competitive marketplace. -- Teamwork & Collaboration: Work with other entrepreneurs in the city to build partnerships, share resources, and help each other succeed, while competing in a healthy and collaborative environment. -- Market Research & Branding: Explore how to research your market, understand customer needs, and build a brand identity for your LEGO business. -- Real-World Skills: Gain valuable skills in leadership, communication, financial management, and critical thinking—skills that will last a lifetime!
