Description
Bear Cubs Rhythm Jam (K-2nd) is Blue Bear's entry level music class at Lafayette, and teaches the building blocks of music in a fun setting. Through hands-on instruction, experimentation and jams, students will explore the beat using everything from hand percussion, their voices, the drum machine, and computer-based digital audio programs. They will also learn about the melodic components of rhythmic instruments like keyboard, bass, and their own voice. The mathematical fundamentals of rhythm are stressed through active listening (featuring songs from a variety of genres) and movement. Students also learn about song structure using digital audio software. The students set a goal of digitally creating a short song to showcase, and/or performing .a simplified cover of a contemporary song.
