DescriptionUKULELE + SONGWRITING WITH CITY STRINGS
Music is a birthright! Our mission is to share that we are all creative beings, music makers, songwriters, and musicians.
In this multi-level class, beginner students will be taught how to play the ukulele, listen to each other as an ensemble, and write original songs. For more advanced students, we will continue to build on techniques, more difficult chord shapes, and progressions.
Over the years, students in music classes, be they beginners or advanced, are engaged in the act of self-expression and songwriting, and this is often as fun (for some, if not more fun) than playing their instruments! For the younger students, they can draw, write, and/or have a teacher scribe for them. Always each student finds joy in expressing their unique, wise, creative, fanciful, and hilarious ideas by themselves or with a friend. The ability to read helps but is not required.
Recommended age 5 and up. Students must bring their own ukulele and a snack (sugar-free if possible).
