Description
Students in Starfire Math explore a world of fun, creative mathematics. They learn by exploring and solving interesting and challenging mathematical problems, logic puzzles, multi-step problems, and brain teasers. Learning through problem solving is both challenging and rewarding; it requires creativity, logic, deep thinking, persistence and perseverance. Read an article about Teaching Math Through Problem Solving. Galaxy Math is meant for students from grades 3-5. Galaxy Math students work to develop: 1)a deep understanding of math concepts 2)the ability to think critically, logically and creatively when presented with a problem. 3)the ability to explain their thinking and to defend their methods for solving problems. 4)the ability to work collaboratively to solve challenging problems.
What to bring
No supplies needed. All supplies will be provided for this activity.
Cancellation policy
If you would like your child to try a Starfire class, please register and pay online. If you feel that Starfire is not the right fit, you may withdraw your student within the first two weeks of class. You will be refunded the registration fee less a $30.00 cancellation fee and the cost of two classes for all cancellations made prior to the third class. We are unable to process refunds for withdrawals after the two week trial period.
