by
Irene Rojas
Description
Join Céilí Club, an Irish dance after-school program that incorporates exciting new choreography, traditional céilí, games, instruments, arts & crafts, and whatever other fun surprises Lucky the Leprechaun has up his sleeve! No experience necessary. Open to grades K-5. .. General class structure: We begin with a quick game to channel that after-school burst of energy! We continue on with circle time where we introduce ourselves and share a fun fact to connect (favorite color, what we did over the weekend, etc.) while stretching. We warm up to a fun Irish tune (or We Don't Talk About Bruno), working on our technique. We learn new choreography as well as traditional céilí, with jam sesh (with instruments or rainbow scarves) in between. We wrap up with an opportunity for creative expression (team improv challenges, arts & crafts, etc.) before we cool down and stretch. And of course, we finish it off with...stickers!

Improvisation and Creative Dance
by
Happy Feet Kids Classes
Description
Creative dance synthesizes all different styles of dance. No technique is required as students are encouraged to create their own dance personalities and choreography. Be warned though, participating in our class may very well inspire your child to enter the world of formalized dance technique :) Creative dance helps us to develop kinesthetic intelligence(an understanding of our bodies and their parts as related to your surroundings), and enables us to get in touch with how our bodies move. The elements of creative dance focus on the concepts of Space, Time, Force and Movement and how we can manipulate these concepts to move in particular ways. We will also focus on body awareness, balance, muscle and bone strength, flexibility, balance, and more. Creative dance is a ton of fun for ALL ages!
