It's Your Movie!!@
by Deborah Woeckner, aka Dr. D
Description"The person with imagination is more powerful than the one with all the facts." --Albert Einstein Let your imagination take you on a wild and beautiful ride as you dream, imagine, explore, envision build and create in this ✨️ hands-on epic adventure with Dr. D! Beginning visually, we will imagine archetypically, what our ideal world looks like, using magazines, scraps, stickers and more! After cutting and pasting and creating our original artistic collages, or " Vision Boards," we will use these to 👀 into the future and imagine our future selves! Bridging the visual and written communication, we will explore creative writing, beginning with poetry and spoken word. Students will gain confidence and poise through sharing their works. "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams-- live the life you've imagined." --Henry David Thoreau Now comes the FUN part...just kidding, this entire course is infused with Dr. D's love of learning, so you know JOY is an essential element! 😁 Next we will take a deep dive into our favorite stories and heros/heroines and what makes an epic adventure tale. Bringing to life our imagination, we will construct our own self-published adventure stories, where we can see our own dreams and aspirations reflected in one or more characters. Storyboard sketching will be revised and enhanced until each student has created an original work of art, with images created digitally, manually or both. What are you waiting for?!? Whether ⛵️ sailing around the world, climbing Mt. Everest, exploring outerspace, or ending homelessness, it's sure to be an EPIC adventure! Be well, and stay inspired! PS--We will also explore the psychology of color and briefly touch on goal-setting. PPS-Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
