Bridging the visual and written communication, we will explore creative writing, beginning with poetry and spoken word. Students will gain confidence and poise through sharing their works. "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams-- live the life you've imagined." --Henry David Thoreau Now comes the FUN part...just kidding, this entire course is infused with Dr. D's love of learning, so you know JOY is an essential element! 😁 Next we will take a deep dive into our favorite stories and heros/heroines and what makes an epic adventure tale. FBLA also helps students to develop 21st century skills focused on leadership, problem solving, teamwork, goal setting, and creativity. Deadline to submit this registration form is Tuesday, September 10th at 11:59pm IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR: There are ONLY 125 spaces available for NON-OFFICER Members. Membership is NOT automatic with payment, nor first come, first served. The Adviser must approve FBLA Applications and invite students for membership. The application intake period will occur Sept 5th-10th, 2024. Notification of application approval status will be sent no later than Monday, Sept 16th. Students will receive specific payment instructions once the application for membership is approved. 2024-2025 FBLA Fees: $250 for the Year Membership Registration Fee: $100 one-time fee per year (Due Wednesday, September 18th by 3:45pm), paid to The Adviser in Room 158 in the form of cash, check, or money order. Our mornings will begin with hula hooping, connection games and a yoga class. After a snack we'll learn a hip-hop combination, practice tumbling skills(cartwheels, head and hand stands, back bends), and have a "dance party". We strive to inspire children to feel confident in their bodies as they dance with friends. For lunch we'll go outside to play, finger knit and socialize, and after lunch we'll return to our camp space to play drama games and create hand crafts. Students will bring home their creations and on each Friday at 12:30pm all family and friends are invited to come watch a performance of what the children learned throughout the week :)
