20 students

Description
After adopting their very own plush dog, students will take on the role of a veterinarian through hands-on activities and role-plays. These future veterinarians will perform a nose-to-tail exam, learn about proper hydration and nutrition, and practice giving vaccinations. Camp participants will study a dog’s vital organs and learn how to perform an X-ray. Students will diagnose and treat a sick and injured dog and role-play the key responsibilities within a vet clinic. This camp includes many daily take-home items and products the students will use and create as part of the hands-on activities. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a ceremony where the campers will demonstrate their new skills and graduate with their own student lab coat, plush dog, and diploma. Take-home items include: student lab coat; plush dog; veterinarian journal; vet clinic design; healthy dog treat recipe card and playdough treats; dog bowl; tick demonstration; syringe; dog eye model; adoption and graduation certificates
